Who are Expats?

What does the term Expat actually mean, when are you an Expat? The word Expat comes from the English word 'expatriate', which means migrant. Expats are often highly educated people with a relatively high salary who are sent abroad through their work. This is almost always temporary, often for 1 to 3 years. For this reason, they often do not buy real estate in the country where they are going to work, but prefer to rent a house.

Rent out to Expats

Rent out to Expats can have several advantages. Because they have often been brought to the Netherlands by their employer, it is possible that the employer guarantees the rent payment. They also often have a high and stable income. This offers much more security for you as a landlord. The temporary nature of the rental period can also be advantageous for you as a landlord, because you are also in a temporary situation and do not necessarily want to rent out your house indefinitely.
